Sharjah plate ownership transfer
| Authority | Sharjah Police / Tasjeel centres |
|---|---|
| Fees | ≈ AED 350 + AED 35 plate fee (verify current fees) |
Steps
- In person at a Tasjeel centre — both parties together, or via power of attorney. There is no fully digital flow.
- Required: IDs, Mulkiya, buyer's insurance, and vehicle inspection if applicable.
- Holding a plate without a vehicle is only possible via paid reservation: AED 300 / 6 months or AED 500 / 12 months.
- ⚠ If the reservation lapses without renewal, the plate is forfeited.
- Ask the seller for the plate's reservation expiry date before agreeing a deal.
Safety rules
- Never pay before the official transfer is initiated in the government system.
- For high-value deals: complete payment at the authority (manager's cheque), or stage it — deposit, then balance after transfer confirmation.
- Verify the seller's ownership document with the authority before paying.
- The bank account name must match the seller's identity.
- Never share OTP codes or UAE Pass credentials — the platform and authorities never ask for them.
